Users of the Mexico City Metro reported a train driver who was allegedly operating the train irregularly by increasing speed and braking abruptly. A video that went viral on social media shows passengers asking authorities for help. After the Metro stopped, the driver got out and walked through the carriages while female passengers demanded he be stopped and not be allowed to drive again. "Don't let him drive anymore, he seems to be fainting... He is driving very badly... Where is the station chief?" the passengers stated, claiming that the man was nodding off at the wheel and at one point "fainted." In response to complaints that went viral, the Mexico City Metro reported that it is verifying the driver's work to determine if he complied with operational procedures. "If necessary, the corresponding measures will be applied," the Metro stated in a social media post. Earlier, the Metro assured that train operations are supervised from the Central Control Post, where train circulation is monitored in real-time and permanent communication is maintained with staff, thus dismissing any danger of an accident.
